Winter

Snow settles over the valley

From the first heavy snowfall until late in the season, Witów becomes a quiet white village with the slopes of Witów-Ski only minutes away and the Chochołowska Valley turning into one of the most beautiful winter walks in the Tatras. Days are spent outside in cold, clear air; evenings belong to the warmth of wooden rooms, hot showers and long, slow dinners. The thermal baths are at their best exactly now, when steam rises from the water and the mountains stand white behind it.

Spring

The thaw opens the trails

Spring arrives slowly in Podhale. Snow retreats up the slopes, meadows turn green in patches, and the streams around the valley run loud with meltwater. It is the quietest season in the village, which many guests come to appreciate: trails are emptier, the light is soft and long, and the whole region feels like it is stretching after winter. Mornings can still be sharp, so the heating stays on and the kettle sees plenty of use.

Summer

Long days in the mountains

Summer is the season of early starts and late returns. Hikers set off toward the Chochołowska Valley while the air is still cool, and come back in the afternoon to the garden, the outdoor seating and the grill. Families settle into a rhythm of walking, swimming at the thermal complex and eating in traditional highland kitchens nearby. The village stays calmer than Zakopane even at the height of the season, which is precisely the point of staying here.

Autumn

Golden weeks before the cold

Autumn colours the valley in copper and gold, and the crowds thin out almost overnight. The walking is superb, the air is crisp without being hard, and the light in the late afternoon makes the timber of the house glow. This is the season for slower plans: one long walk, one thermal afternoon, one unhurried evening with the windows open to the sound of the mountains.
